With online brands being subject to so much scrutiny and dissection, its imperative that a crystal-clear branding strategy is created to define the brand clearly, identify and promote differentiating factors that are sustaining and linked to the brand’s identity and finally, deliver messaging that is aligned with the brand’s objectives.

That being said, here are a few tips on how to build an online brand:

1. Clarity: Clearly define the mission around your personal branding strategy, being smart to identify goals that may be easily measured and ensure that you convey to the world that you’re way more than an average product that is superior because of its  unique competencies, outstanding skills and unparalleled abilities.

2. Reciprocity: In the social networks realm, it is important to build a solid reputation to make your best effort in helping others solve any problems related to your product. For e.g. Jet Blue mostly does customer support through their Twitter account and because it does that, in a way, it’s also thanking folks for following its account on Twitter.  Reciprocity thus, is a golden rule to build up your image on the Internet.

3. Integration: It makes perfect sense integrating your messaging across your websites, the different social networks and blogs with the aim of strengthening your communication and consequently your branding initiatives.

4. Consistency: Be consistent in the message conveyed to your audience and do your best effort to assure that all the platforms you use (Linkedin, Facebook, Blogs, Twitter, among others) are perfectly aligned to support your e-branding strategy.
