Even better, it was a purchase of prestige for Google who managed to get a rather venerable food-review brand into their stable.

Clients vary – there are clients who provide clear briefs and know what they want and appreciate the work involved. Groupon $950 million fundingGroupon in the news, again! This time, again, it’s about money. They want to raise about $950 million in a Series G round of financing. This sounds like Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers movies.

The big question on everyone’s lips is why is Groupon raising so much money? This is nearly $1 billion dollars that they’re aiming to raise.

Google Groupon AcquisitonIts time for me to play the expert again. The Google-Groupon buyout rumor has been making the rounds for the past few weeks. And everybody’s already started analyzing why this deal is such a coup or disaster for Google. It’s hard to believe that Groupon is just 2 years old and brings in monthly revenues of over $50 million.

Google wants to pay $5.3 billion for buying Groupon. Sounds like something that Yahoo would do – back in the day when they bought Geocities, HotJobs and everything else in site (pun intended).
